ABOUT ME
Hello! I’m Kyle Channell—an actor, director, and comedy writer with a deep-rooted passion for storytelling and a relentless curiosity that fuels my creative journey. Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, I’ve been performing for as long as I can remember, constantly drawn to the power of narrative and the thrill of stepping into someone else’s shoes.

From an early age, I was encouraged to ask questions, seek knowledge, and embrace learning in all its forms. That spirit of inquiry has shaped me not only as a devoted academic, but as an artist who views each new role or creative project as an opportunity to investigate the human experience from a fresh perspective. I believe that stories—especially those told with humor, heart, and honesty—have the ability to challenge, inspire, and connect us in ways few other things can.

Whether I’m performing on stage, directing a cast, or writing new material, my work is rooted in the idea that every person carries a unique point of view worth sharing. By exploring those perspectives through the potency of theatre and joy of comedy, we uncover what is universal in our lives—and what makes us unmistakably human.

My artistic path has taken me across the country, allowing me to collaborate with diverse communities and bring stories to life that resonate on both personal and collective levels. I’m excited for the next chapter, and always eager to connect with others who are just as passionate about creating meaningful, impactful work.

Let’s connect and tell some stories together.

My Journey So Far...
My artistic training has stretched and molded me into the malleable artist I have grown into today. It has led me across borders and featured the expertise of developing artists, established industry professionals, and seasoned veterans.
UNDERGRAD - DAYTON OH
POSTGRADUATE
WORKS
2024-present
Since graduating, I have worked with a series of professional theaters across the nation. This year’s schedule is packed with dynamic and rewarding work, with a myriad of leading, supporting, and ensemble roles in titles such as Into the Woods, Beautiful, Chicago, Mystic Pizza, Jersey Boys, My Fair Lady, Forever Plaid, and Waitress among otherss. I’m thrilled to bring these stories to life and continue growing as an artist through such a diverse and exciting range of productions.
EARLY EDUCATION
COLUMBUS, OH
2015 - 2019
A born and raised Columbusite, I grew up in every studio and theatre I could find. What began as participation in community theatre quickly evolved in the forms of children's theatre, student films, commercials, regional theatre, feature films, and eventually conservatory style professional training programs. Columbus will always be home, and will forever serve as the artistic stomping ground that first inspired me.
INTERLOCHEN ARTS
TRAVERSE CITY, MI
2018
With the encouragement of my teachers and mentors, I committed to refining my craft through the pursuit of more vigorous and diverse training. This led me to Interlochen Center for the Arts, where I was blessed to train with experienced industry professionals, grow with similarly invested students, and apply my work to a production of The Music Man. For my commitment to artistic excellence in my portrayal of Harold Hill, I received a Fine Arts Award.
COVID ERA
2020
During the pandemic, I used the abundance of time to explore my creative interests beyond performance. Exploring the works of some of my favorite artists, I found an affinity for writing, comedy, and direction. These endeavors marry many of my strongest skills and continue to shape me into a more rounded creative. This time also helped me grow my second greatest love in the culinary arts.
Graduation: 2024
In the pursuit of my BFA at Wright State University I prioritized diversification, collaboration, and craft. Maturing in my artistry, I was challenged to broaden my skillset and refine what I uniquely bring to the table. I have grown profoundly in my technique, sustainability, focus, and ambit. I am continuing to refine these skills as I enter this next chapter of my artistic endeavors.
